Today on the train...I didn't get off at my regular stop to go home. I was meeting the boyfriend a little deeper in Downtown Long Beach so that we could attend the Taste of Downtown Long Beach. It is a little creepy how little by little the train becomes empty. That's when things can get a little weird. I was facing backwards and heard someone stomping down the aisle. A disheveled old man walked quickly by me and right up to a little placard that is on the wall of each car with the history of one of the many cities that lie within Los Angeles county. He got right up close to it and read it line by line and then quickly walked to the door waiting impatiently for it to open.
Then as he got off at the next stop a young man took his spot asking for attention by mumbling the song that he was listening to on his ipod. Occasionally, he would burst out with a few words and then he'd go back to mumbling. I could tell when an instrumental came because he stopped singing and instead concentrated real hard on a "slick" dance move.
He's not the first person that I've experienced singing on the train. It's like they hope Simon Cowell is riding the train that day and will give them their big break into stardom. Too bad! Simon is not on this train and nobody asked you to share your music with them.
As I was getting off the train a man came up along side me and said, "You sure do see some crazy stuff on the train." And I replied "I know! I actually write a blog about all the crazy things I see." I felt so proud of myself and proud of my blog, really! I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy planning for and writing it!
