Sunday to Sunday in the LBC

Starting Friday, April 16 is an event that many Long Beach residents wait all year for. It is when the downtown area is transformed into a raceway for the Long Beach Grand Prix!

It is amazing how the area is changed. There are times when I've been down there that I have no idea where I am in relation to how the area normally looks. Places where you normally walk are covered by bleacher seats, and walk ways are built over the road where you normally wouldn't be able to pass.

The race has been going on since 1977 and it seems like everyone in the city is there. And you can hear the cars racing from miles away! 


This year I won't be able to attend because the boyfriend and I have a wedding to go to, but I'm sure we'll be able to see the remnants of the weekend from the tire marks left on the road for months afterwards.
